Who We Are

Kids and Katydids Toys is a one-woman studio. I'm a disabled woman who pours my heart into creating beautiful, natural toys for the littlest ones. Every doll, lovey, and handmade wearable that leaves my hands has been carefully crafted to bring joy, comfort, and wonder to your child's world, and to become a treasure your family keeps forever.

My Handmade Process

Each toy begins as a carefully chosen piece of fabric and ends as something your child will love for years. I cut, sew, stuff, felt, and finish every item by hand, no assembly lines and no shortcuts, ever! This means every piece is unique, and every piece carries the care of the hands that made it.

Natural Materials I Love

I believe children deserve the best, which is why I use only natural, gentle materials:

Organic cotton and bamboo: soft, breathable, and kind to sensitive skin

Natural velour: irresistibly soft and snuggly for the perfect cuddles

Non-toxic and wool stuffing: because peace of mind matters as much as softness

Fabrics are carefully sourced from other small businesses to ensure they are free from harsh dyes and chemicals, so your little one can snuggle safely.

Waldorf-Inspired Philosophy

These toys are rooted in the Waldorf tradition, a philosophy that honors the magic of childhood and the power of open-ended, imaginative play. Waldorf-inspired toys are intentionally simple: no batteries, no screens, no flashing lights. Beautiful, natural objects that help develop empathy, dexterity, and invite a child's imagination to do what it does best.

A cloth bunny can be a friend, a baby, a partner for adventure, or a quiet companion at naptime. That open-endedness is the point, and the gift!

Every toy is designed with baby's safety in mind. I use securely sewn seams, embroidered (not button or bead) eyes, and materials that meet or exceed safety standards for infant and toddler toys.
